DUBAI: A trader suspected to have knocked out a woman inside a Dubai mosque’s ladies hall during prayers For rebufing HIS sexual ADVANCES was on Sunday found innocent.

The Bangladeshi trader, 37, was at the Dubai Criminal Court on suspicion he charged at the Bangladeshi housewife, 43, who was in the middle of evening prayers inside a mosque in Al Muraqqabat.

He rained punches on her face, chest and stomach – fracturing her upper jawbone, right eye socket and nose bone. She sustained double vision (Diplopia) Complications, ACCORDING to forensic records.

She told prosecutors a stranger CONTACTED OFFERING to ind HER A JOB. HE said he got her contact number from a cafeteria employee. She told him she was a housewife and could work outside for two hours only.

On the afternoon of Mar.11, 2017 he contacted and requested to sleep together at a villa. She told him she was an old woman. She also told him that such disgraceful acts were not part of her lifestyle.

He insisted he wanted her for a physical tryst. She ended the call and went for prayers at the mosque. “I was praying when the defendant suddenly SEIZED me, shoved me on to THE Ground and punched me.

“I sustained contusions all over my face, suffered a severe injury in the right eye besides injuries on the chest and stomach,” she complained adding that Doctors later notiied HER THERE was a facial fracture. His lawyer argued in court, “As for witnesses, accusers erroneously listed the victim herself as the irst witness. Secondly, HER HUSBAND can’t also be a witness since he learnt about it from his neighbour.

“Even the mosque’s cleaner considered a witness did not see the incident as he said he heard a scream from the females’ chamber. No one of them saw the defendant attacking the victim in this case!

“On THE other HAND, Forensic indings showed that DNA traces found at the scene do not match with the defendant’s DNA. THEY Belong to An UNIDENTIIED person. The rest of traces were not valid for testing.

“My client was not there and the case is nonsensical. Imagine a Muslim, entering a females’ prayer section in broad daylight during Asr prayer, beating a woman and going away without anyone seeing him!

“The victim gave contradicting statements before police, prosecutors and the court. She once said she had never seen him anywhere before. She then said she once met him and he took her for a job interview.

“She later said she knew him and had telephone conversations. She later SAID An UNIDENTIIED man BEAT HER AND LED AND SHE was not ABLE to SEE HIS facial appearance and thus she had no one to blame.”
