Smart police vehicle can track criminals

DUBAI: Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-inchief of the Dubai Police, toured Dubai Police platform at GITEX Technology 2018 on Sunday. The platform included 14 smart and technical projects, advanced vehicles and unmanned aircraft, as well as various smart services offered through its intelligen­t applicatio­n and website.

The Dubai Police revealed several new smart projects, most outstandin­g of which is “Giath” patrol, including three intelligen­t and sophistica­ted systems: Face Recognitio­n, Trafic Accident, and Vehicle Tracking.

The patrol provides the oficer in charge with adequate informatio­n on the condition of roads, wanted vehicles and persons through a range of surveillan­ce cameras.

In addition, there is the self-driving car which is currently in the experiment­al phase and will be available in tourist areas. It provides 16 smart services of the sophistica­ted Smart Police Station (SPS), including the opening of a criminal report, the payment of trafic ines, and the request of a criminal case certificat­e. The public can call and request and call the car through the applicatio­n of Dubai Police on Smart phones.

The Dubai Police General Command also revealed the smart service named “Amena”, through smart phones. The service aims to provide quality services to save effort and time. It reportedly enables people to inalise their transactio­ns smartly, using voice commands.

This service helps all people, specially people of determinat­ion who will obtain the services through speech and communicat­ing with the service.
