Mohamed Bin Zayed meets CEO of Citigroup

ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed binzay ed al na hy an, crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on Monday received Michael L. Corbat, Chief Executive Of ic er of ci ti group, to discuss prospects of cooperatio­n between emir at ii nan ci al institutio­ns and the world’s global bank. The meeting occasioned a review of the investment-conducive environmen­t boasted by UAE and the incentives and services provided to global businesses and investors coming in from around the world to operate in the country. Attending the meeting were Khaldoun Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, and Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, the Undersecre­tary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court.

US DELEGATION

Sheikh Mohamed on Monday received a US Evangelica­l Christian delegation led by Joel Rosenberg, and discussed issues with relevance to promotion of tolerance, inclusion, respect for difference­s and peaceful co-existence between various cultural and religious sects.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed doubled on the importance of inculcatin­g the values of cultural and religious pluralism and forgivenes­s between followers of different religions as an essential told to uproot the scourge of terrorism, extremism, fanaticism, and hatred. He underlined the signiicant role played by religious scholars and intellectu­als to spread awareness of the gravity of fanatic ideologies that sow the seeds of grudge and animosity between various cultures and religions. Rosenberg commended the signiicant efforts made by the UAE to establish peace, and extend channels of dialogue between followers of different sects and religions, afirming that the UAE endeavours in this respect enjoy global ac claim. sheikh mohamed binzay ed also received the Speaker of the Irish House of Commons at the Sea Palace.

AL AIN MUSEUM RESTORATIO­N SCHEME

Sheikh Mohamed has been briefed on the latest developmen­ts of the ongoing project to restore and revamp Al Ain Museum and the historical Sultan Fort.

This came as the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince received on Monday at Qasr Al Bahr Majlis here a delegation of the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) - Abu Dhabi, who presented the expansion and renovation layouts and designs of the rehabilita­tion scheme, which should be accomplish­ed in two years. “Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan was keen on building a museum during the early stages of establishi­ng the country to document the nation’s heritage, history and ensure due concern is paid to our archeologi­cal treasures,” said Sheikh Mohamed. “The restoratio­n scheme goes in unison with other modern is at ion developmen­ts ongoing across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to ensure proper harmony between originalit­y and modernity,” Sheikh Mohamed added. The oldest museum in the UAE, Al Ain Museum was establishe­d in 1969 under the guidance of late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
