CDA delegation visits Rashid Centre, discusses ways of improvemen­t

DUBAI: A delegation from the Community Developmen­t Authority (CDA) Dubai led by its director general has visited the Rashid Centre for the Determined Ones and discussed a number of issues related to people of determinat­ion including ways of developing services and the environmen­t surroundin­g them in Dubai.

The delegation comprised Ahmed Abdulkarim Julfar, Director General of CDA, Dr Omar Al Muthanna, Executive Director of Licensing and Supervisio­n, Dr Alia Alqassimi, and Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of the Elderly Administra­tion Authority as they were received by mariam Othman, Director General of Rashid Centre, and its teachers and students. The visit of Ahmed Abdulkarim Julfar and his accompanyi­ng delegation to the Centre came within the framework of co-operation between the two parties and their efforts to improve the environmen­t of the people of determinat­ion in Dubai, which is one of the most important cities in the world.

During the visit, Ahmed was briefed on all the services provided by the Centre to the students.

He also reviewed the facilities of the Centre, which was well equipped to fulil the requiremen­ts of the people of determinat­ion and to enable them integrate into the community. He was also briefed about all the educationa­l programmes the centre provides to the students to improve their performanc­e in general.

In this regard, Ahmed said, “In the framework of its ongoing efforts to implement the directives and visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him, for enabling motivation­al people of determinat­ion to develop their abilities and rehabilita­tion, in line with the Dubai 2020 Strategy and the Dubai 2021 Plan, the Dubai community developmen­t authority (CDA) plays an important role in providing innovative services to stakeholde­rs and is one of the main supervisor­s responsibl­e for ensuring quality of service and the environmen­t that is taking care of them.

“Our visit to Rashid Centre enables us to learn about people of determinat­ion needs socially, so as to achieve the comprehens­ive integratio­n process for them in the community, as well as building a full knowledge environmen­t for this important segment of the society.”

Maria mo th man, praising ahmed’ s visit to Rashid Centre, said, “This visit comes in the context of deepening our relationsh­ip with the Community Developmen­t Authority in Dubai, which strive s to provide the dig n ii ed life needed by people of determinat­ion. We have a strong relationsh­ip with the CDA, which we co-operate with to develop the stakeholde­rs and provide them with all their requiremen­ts.

“This visit comes as a culminatio­n of the fruitful partnershi­p between us and government and private bodies to improve the quality of services we provide to those who are concerned, which is commensura­te with the nature of Dubai’s orientatio­ns and strategy for the year 2020, to be a friendly city for people of determinat­ion.”

At the end of the visit, Ahmed attended the performanc­e presented by the Rashid Stars band, which is inspired by the heritage and values of the UAE. Maryam Othman also handed over the appreciati­on trophy of the Centre in honour of his efforts and support to the people of determinat­ion.
