Pak-china bus service from Nov.3

The bus route will be from Lahore to Kashgar and the 30-hour road trip will cost Rs13,000 per person for one-way and Rs23,000 for return journey

ISLAMABAD: A private transport company will launch China-pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) bus service on Nov.3.

The Pakistan-china bus service will foster the ties between china and pakistan, said the CEO of the company.

The bus route will be from Lahore to Kashgar (China), engaging people into astonishin­g and eye-catching views of Northern areas of Pakistan on the journey.

The 30- hour road trip will cost rs 13,000 for one-way and Rs23,000 for return ticket (Dh1=rs35). People have already started to book their seats for this exciting journey.

As per schedule issued by authorised operator, the bus service will run four days a week from Lahore to Tashkurgan. The departure from Lahore would be on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday while departure from Tashkurgan would be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The passengers can book their seats either from Lahore or Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

It offers premium and luxurious buses, comfortabl­e journey, better en-route services that include breakfast, lunch, dinner refreshmen­t beverages, tea, and snacks, while fast Wifi service would also provide throughout the journey.

Meanwhile, a total of 18 countries’ leaders including Prime Minister Imran Khan will be coming to next week’s major import expo in China’s commercial hub of Shanghai, ranging from Russia and Pakistan to the tiny Cook Islands, though none from major Western nations.

Set to run from Nov.5 to Nov.10, the China Internatio­nal Import Expo will bring together thousands of foreign and Chinese companies, aiming to boost imports, allay foreign concern about China’s trade practices and show readiness to narrow trade gaps.

Also on Tuesday, Informatio­n Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the country is in takeoff position right now after farreachin­g measures by the government’s economic team.

Addressing newsmen outside parliament house on Tuesday, he said PTI government inherited a huge backlog of foreign loans, however, we have been able to recover from the economic crises and inancial crunch due to better management of state affairs by the prime minster and his team.

He said prime minister’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia and his upcoming visit to China would help Pakistan overcome all the economic woes left by the previous regime.

Earlier, a top lawmaker has said that the country was turning into a regional and internatio­nal trade hub due to the strategica­lly located Gwadar deep sea port in Balochista­n province.

Addressing an inaugural session of Asian parliament­ary assembly’ s standing Committee on Political Affairs in Gwadar, Pakistan Senate Chair Sadiq Sanjrani said that Gwadar is helping to strike down the negative impression created about the area, reports Xinhua news agency.

“Bringing Balochista­n and Gwadar into the national mainstream developmen­t is part of our agenda,” Sanjrani said, adding that Balochista­n is rich in mineral resources and their exploratio­n and developmen­t can change the face of not only Pakistan, but the entire region.

Lauding the potential of Gwadar, he said that the port was being developed as a sea and land route not only between regions but also continents.

He also urged for greater teamwork amongst the Asian countries to realise the dream of a socially, economical­ly and culturally integrated Asia.

Sanjrani said the capacity of desalinati­on plant to provide drinking water to the residents has been enhanced to 2.5 million gallons, and three more desalinati­on plants will be set up in the city to increase this capacity to 5 million gallons.
