Kareena says health, fitness top priority for her

MUMBAI: Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has taken to exercising indoors to battle the rising levels of air pollution, says health and itness is of utmost importance to her and her family.
“I am very aware of my surroundings and the environment we live in. Being a mother, I am extremely particular about having a clean home and mindful of the dust and indoor air pollution we are subjecting ourselves to in our daily lives. Health and itness is of top priority for me and my family,” Kareena said in a statement.
The actor endorses Honeywell, which offers indoor air puriication solutions. The brand has come up with a ‘Healthy Sleep’ campaign, which draws attention to the fact that even while sleeping, we inhale the polluted air which is full of germs, dust and PM2.5 particles, which is why sound sleep alone is not always a healthy one.
Promoting the thought that a healthy sleep is more important than a ‘good night’s sleep’ for an active, more productive and a healthier lifestyle, Kareena said: “To tackle indoor air pollution, I have my house aired out regularly, apart from having plants placed indoors and trust air puriiers to provide clean breathable air for me and my family.”
“Given the poor air quality outdoors, I have taken to exercising indoors in the safe conines of clean air. Even though I enjoy yoga as it brings me close to nature, I would rather exercise in a controlled environment and inhale clean air,” added Kareena, who is a mother to Taimur Ali Khan who will turn 2 this December.
Kareena says she is happy that she did Veere Di Wedding, a coming-of-age story about four female friends.
“This ilm is quite different from what I have done previously. While the movies I have acted in had a male lead, this story revolves around four girls who are at different stages in their lives and their friendship,” Kareena said in a statement.
“From the moment I read the script, I wanted to be a part of the ilm. I am so glad we made a movie based on friendship like this. Veere Di Wedding is a movie that everyone can enjoy with the entire family. There is something for everyone in it,” she added.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the ilm is about the lives of four friends who deal with the trials and tribulations regarding family acceptance, marriage and societal perceptions in the modern-day world.
