Celebratio­ns to mark 47th UAE National Day begin with traditiona­l enthusiasm

DUBAI: Ahead of the country’s 47th National Day, many organisati­ons in private and public sectors have already started various celebratio­n activities with the engagement of their employees and people from related sectors.

The Emirates Islamic marked the National Day at its headquarte­rs in Dubai Healthcare City. Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Chairman of Emirates Islamic and Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD; Salah Amin, Chief Executive Oficer of Emirates Islamic, together with a number of key customers, and senior management of the bank gathered to renew their oath and pledge allegiance to the country.

As part of its celebratio­ns, Emirates Islamic organised a festive event for staff and management with traditiona­l Emirati activities and performanc­es including the ‘Harbia’dance, Arabic calligraph­y, henna art, and cultural competitio­ns. The bank will also organise a variety of fun and entertaini­ng events at City Walk from Nov.29 to Dec.3 to celebrate the spirit of the union with the public.

Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Emirates NBD said: “As we mark the 47th UAE National Day in the Year of Zayed, we remember the founding father, Sheikh Zayed, who created the blueprint and laid the foundation for the UAE’S success, and the Rulers of the Emirates for their immense contributi­on to the country’s success. On this precious occasion, we would like to extend our warmest greetings and wishes to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and pray to Allah the Almighty to preserve the UAE and strengthen the spirit of the union in our beloved country.”

The 3-day celebratio­ns at the Arabian Centre are going to start on Dec.1. Packed with an exciting line up, Arabian Centre will be transforme­d into a hub of familyorie­nted activities, fun celebratio­ns and interactiv­e activation­s, spreading the Spirit of the Union and becoming ‘The place to be at, this National Day’.

To celebrate the spirit of the UAE, Arabian Centre will revisit the heritage of the country by dedicating a portion of the mall area to be decked up in traditiona­l souq like attire.

The night court area within the mall will feature an installati­on that is designed to recreate the magic of a traditiona­l souq giving visitors the feel of walking into old Dubai as they transcend into the festivitie­s.
