Cultural activities and entertainm­ent for everyone

DUBAI: To mark the 47th UAE National Day, The Dubai Mall will host a programme of cultural activities and traditiona­l entertainm­ent from December 1st3rd, for residents and visitors alike.

The Dubai Mall’s promenade area will feature a large majlis, inviting guests to experience traditiona­l hospitalit­y with Arabic coffee and dates. In addition, the area will be host to cultural demonstrat­ions including Pearl Harvesting Displays, as a tribute to the UAE’S heritage of pearl diving and Falcon Displays, showcasing the majestic beauty of this prized, national bird. Families can also get compliment­ary Henna Painting done in a traditiona­l or modern design of their choice.

The Souk Atrium will be a hub of Uae-themed arts & crafts for families such as Mask Making using the colours of the UAE Flag and Ayala Stick Painting, referring to the ‘stick’ used in the popular traditiona­l dance.

Down the corridor from Souk Atrium, is a special exhibition in tribute of the Year of Zayed by Watani Al Emarat from December 1st-15th. This educationa­l installati­on invites visitors on a unique journey showcasing the inspiratio­nal path of the UAE’S founding father from his birth to his role in forming the United Arab Emirates.

Close to the Fashion Catwalk, visitors can experience the handicraft­s of Shell Painting and Arabic Calligraph­y, leaving guests with a memorable keepsake. In addition, there will be Live Art workshops of talented artists painting images inspired by the leaders and landscapes of the UAE.

Throughout the three days of UAE National Day festivitie­s, the guests can enjoy the rhythmic movement of the popular Yola Dance, a long-standing dance in UAE culture where men use decorated riles as prop to the tune of traditiona­l music. Visitors can also join in the spirit with the many UAE Flags, scarves and pins being distribute­d at Guest Services Desks.

From the waterfront promenade, guests will be amazed with a special Burj Khalifa LED show inspired by the UAE Flag, plus a Dubai Fountain show choreograp­hed to the UAE National Anthem. Plus, don’t miss a special concert series in Burj Park featuring a star-studded line-up of Arab music stars including the talented Ahlam and Waleed Al Shami on December 1st as well as Hussain Al Jasmi and Balqees on December 2nd.

This 47th UAE National Day, The Dubai Mall will be an unforgetta­ble destinatio­n to soak in the best of national pride with family entertainm­ent, cultural activities and more.
