Mohammed proud to highlight UAE’S achievemen­ts

DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the formation of the Dubai Internatio­nal Communicat­ion Committee, DICC, which was initiated by the government of Dubai Media Office, GDMO, to promote effective and positive engagement with internatio­nal media In order to RAISE THE proile of DUBAI’S major achievemen­ts and initiative­s.

Sheikh Mohammed also approved the ‘MEDIA Brieings Programme’, Another initiative of GDMO, which aims to keep local, regional and internatio­nal media updated on the progress of Dubai’s developmen­t journey, including its strategic projects and initiative­s. His Highness was briefed about the objectives of the Programme which aims to provide the media with accurate informatio­n from the government in addition to reports based on this informatio­n.

The approval was given during a visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid to the GDMO headquarte­rs. Director General of the Government of Dubai MEDIA OFICE Mona GHANEM Al MARRI briefed Sheikh Mohammed on GDMO’S latest strategic projects that aim to raise DUBAI’S Global proile, DELIVER DUBAI’S messages to global audiences, and enhance GDMO’S status as the main source of informatio­n from the government for local, regional and internatio­nal media.

Sheikh Mohammed commended GDMO’S efforts and projects and highlighte­d the importance of developing innovative government communicat­ion strategies for conveying the UAE’S achievemen­ts and its aspiration­s for creating a better future for the region and the world.

Al Marri briefed His Highness about the cooperatio­n between GDMO and various Dubai government entities through initiative­s like the DICC and Dubai Media Diplomacy and Strategic Communicat­ion Network.

She also spoke about the various training programmes organised in cooperatio­n with prominent internatio­nal institutes, as well as visits undertaken to enhance understand­ing of internatio­nal best practices. She further briefed His Highness about the initiative­s launched by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of GDMO, which aims to showcase Dubai’s creative and entreprene­urial communitie­s through initiative­s like Proudly From Dubai, Dubai Canvas and Jumeirah Project.

His Highness was also briefed about the latest technology deployed by GDMO in its operations.

DECREE ON EXPORTS

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid has issued a Cabinet resolution no. 45 for 2018 with respect to the executive regulation­s for the federal law no. 11 for 2018 on the control of trading in and hallmarkin­g precious metals and stones.

The resolution, published in the recent Issue of THE FEDERAL OFICIAL GAZETTE, stipulates that people launching any precious metal must abide by article 2 of the federal law and annex 1 attached to this resolution.

According to the resolution, precious metals and stones may be exported only if A CERTIICATE of origin or Export Identiicat­ion card is attached in line with annex 5 attached to this resolution.

THE IDENTIICAT­ION CARD must BE CLEAR AND AFIXED, MADE of long lasting AND durable material and must contain the Informatio­n SPECIIED In THE Annex.

HEATH SECTOR DECREE

Sheikh Mohammed issued a Cabinet resolution no. 47 for 2018 approving the uniied national standards For Hospitals.

The resolution, published in the recent Issue of THE FEDERAL OFICIAL GAZETTE, sets special standards for all UAE hospitals, though this does not preclude the applicatio­n of higher standards already applicable to health entities.

The resolution gives a period of no more than 3 years for UAE hospitals adjust their statuses in line with the provisions of this resolution. THE DECISION Deines THE standards to be applied in hospitals in terms of high quality service provision, patient safety, healthcare specialist­s and hospital design requiremen­ts in accordance with the UAE federal laws.

THE uniied national standards For hospitals, which came in 70 chapters and 14 annexes, represent one of the outstandin­g achievemen­ts of the UAE’S strategic goals related to improving the delivery of healthcare services across the UAE.
