PRESSURE MOUNTS ON MACRON

-

PARIS: France hunkered down for another wave of potentially violent protests on Saturday as embattled President Emmanuel Macron planned to address the nation next week over public fury at the high cost of living, senior allies said.

UAE WARNING

The UAE Embassy in Paris has issued an advisory for all UAE nationals living in city to remain indoors as Paris braces for further violent “yellow vest” protests this weekend.

The embassy in its Twitter account said, “The state Embassy in Paris urges visiting and resident citizens to take precautions on Saturday 08/12/2018, due to planned demonstrations.”

“We recommend that you never

exit the residence and avoid going to the Champs-elysées, Trocadéro Square, The Place Vendôme, the Place de l’étoile, the gardens and squares adjacent to the Elysee Palace and other places WHERE THERE ARE GATHERINGS.

“Many streets in Paris and the main roads leading to the capital city AND other major CITIES will BE Closed.

“In case of emergency please contact the embassy on your phone number 0033144340200.”

French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said the three-weekold “yellow vest” revolt had “created a monster” and vowed police would have no tolerance for violence, with much of Paris in lockdown and tens of thousands of police deployed nationwide.

NAMED AFTER THE luorescent safety vests that all French motorists must carry, the protesters are billing their planned action on Saturday as “Act IV” of worst unrest seen in the capital SINCE THE 1968 student riots.
