UAE to take club futsal development to the next level
SHARJAH: The AFC Futsal Development Department concluded its three-day AFC Futsal Club Development Workshop held at the Sharjah Chess and Cultural Club in Sharjah on Thursday.
The three -day workshop which started on Tuesday, was intended to introduce Futsal Club Licensing System in the UAE Futsal Top League.
The AFC delegation was led by the Head of AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Ali Targholizadeh.
The Chairman of Futsal Committee Abdul Malek Jani in the UAE welcomed the AFC delegates and the attending futsal club representatives.
“It’s our pleasure to welcome the AFC experts and learn about futsal club licensing. This is an excellent opportunity and a challenge for the futsal clubs in UAE to take their professionalism to the next level.”
Targholizadeh said: “The AFC is ready to assist UAE in the second phase of the futsal development programme which is to develop futsal clubs in the UAE. “Futsal is popular in the UAE. Therefore it can also be used as a strong tool in the grassroots level. I would like to thank UAE for their full cooperation and hospitality given.”
Abbas Torabian, AFC Futsal Consultant also explained the good practices required for professional management of futsal clubs.
The workshop invoked discussions on the current state of futsal clubs in UAE.
The clubs made presentations on the general outlook, administration, marketing, coach education, and league operations.
“We are constantly looking to building on the strong foundation that we have established and this workshop will be the stepping stone in growing futsal further and stronger,” said Khamis Al Shamsi, vice-president of UAE Futsal Federation.
“We are ready to follow the plan laid down by AFC. It’s our pleasure to welcome the AFC delegation.”
He also thanked AFC for choosing UAE as one of the destinations in conducting this programme and said UAE Futsal Federation will give its support and commitment in ensuring the implementation of AFC plan here.
