Sharjah Ruler promotes police officers
SHARJAH: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued Emiri Decree No.48 of 2018 to promote officers of Sharjah Police, while others were referred to retirement.
The Decree shall be effective from the date of its issuance, and other competent authorities should implement its provisions and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
Also during the day, Sheikh Sultan visited the “Versatile Letters” Exhibition of Tagalsir Hassan calligrapher, which is organised by the Sharjah Museums Authority, at the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum.
The Ruler of Sharjah toured the Exhibition in which he inspected the works of the artist Tagalsir Hassan.
SHARJAH: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Thursday inaugurated “Al Bait Hotel” in the Heart of Sharjah.
Sheikh Sultan toured the hotel, which consists of 53 luxurious rooms and suites that offer guests a unique experience amid modern furniture of a traditional character.
During the inauguration, Sheikh Sultan also inspected the service and entertainment facilities of the hotel, which highlights Sharjah’s legacy and heritage.
Al Bait Hotel contains a library, a museum, a coffee shop, a restaurant and a number of shops for selling jewels, sweets and souvenirs. It also contains a health and beauty centre for men and women, a sports club, a swimming pool and a variety of other facilities for the comfort of guests.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Council; Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq); Sheikh Salem Bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development; Rashid Bin Ahmad Al Shaikh, Head of the Amiri Diwan; Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-inchief of Sharjah Police; Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information; Dr Tariq Sultan Bin Khadem, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources; Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority; Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of Protocol and Hospitality Department; Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of Sharjah Heritage Institute; Dr Eng. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority; and Marwan Bin Jassim Al Sarkal, Executive Chairman of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).
EXHIBITION
Sheikh Sultan visited the “Versatile Letters” Exhibition of Tagalsir Hassan calligrapher, which is organised by the Sharjah Museums Authority, at the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum.
The Ruler of Sharjah toured the Exhibition in which he inspected the works of the artist Tagalsir Hassan, which displays 67 of the artist’s most impressive works that include calligraphy created in the traditional styles alongside newer, more contemporary pieces, introducing various artistic methods in Arabic calligraphy.
Hosted by Sharjah Calligraphy Museum and organised by Sharjah Museums Authority, the exhibition is dedicated to the Emirate of Sharjah where Tagalsir Hassan has lived and worked since 1988 and which continues to inspire him to create calligraphic artworks of outstanding beauty and quality.
