Jobless man directs robbers to flatmate

DUBAI: A salesman’s unemployed latmate who summoned robbers to mug him and snatch his employer’s Dhs220,000hasbeen­incarcerat­edwith them by the Dubai Criminal Court.

THE ASIAN latmate, 33, An ASIAN worker, 32, (who mastermind­ed the theft) and an Arab company agent, 28, (who transporte­d them in a company car) with the help of fugitives targeted the Indian, 32, on May.3.

Posing as detectives, they kidnapped him from near his home in Nahdah to a place in Sharjah’s Muwailih area, beat him up, grabbed the cash, his Dhs2,500 iphone and ID, and sped off in a getaway car.

During Criminal Court questionin­g they denied. The agent claimed the victim waived his complaint. The court jailed them for one year in prison and ordered the Asians be deported after the prison term.

In prosecutio­n records, at around 9:30 am the sales man’ s indian manager at a trading company handed him dhs 220,000 earnings to Deposit In A Bank. THE salesman irst went home to take a rest.

At around 1:30pm he walked out to his car carrying a bag containing the money. The lat mate contacted the worker to lurk in wait with the gang members. They zeroed in on him at the building’s parking lot.

He had just sat when two fugitives showed up, posed as detectives and ordered him to head to the rear seat. One of them sat with him and the other took the wheel CLAIMING HE was DRIVING to THE CID OFICE.

“I was demanding to have a look at their military IDS when the one next to me punched me in the face, took my mobile and ID,” he complained. “I heard the one driving talking to someone over the phone.”

On reaching Muwailih they ordered him out. The one with him seized the bag. THE salesman TRIED to Hold It firmly But to no avail. They got out and entered the getaway car that had been waiting.

The salesman explained that the rob ber who was sitting next to him in his car’s rear seat forgot his mobile phone on the seat. Police seized it and handed it over to prosecutor­s as incriminat­ion evidence.

A Pakistani policeman said the agent upon arrest revealed the lat mate told them the victim was running illegal businesses AND EARNING A lot. THE latmate DISCLOSED his movements. They decided to mug him. The agent distribute­d the loot. Police recovered Dhs8,000 from his car.

Before police and prosecutio­n interrogat­ors, THE worker AND lat mate CONFESSED to their roles in the robbery and each one said he received a Dhs20,000 cut that police seized with him on the dates of their arrest. THEY Also testiied AGAINST THE other gang members.
