RTA holds innovation lab for ‘Internet of Trains’

DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has adopted an array of innovative ideas FOCUSED on rejuvenati­ng THE ‘Internet of Trains’ initiative, which aims at enhancing the services provided to Metro and Tram riders comprising residents, tourists and visitors of Dubai.

RTA’S Rail Agency, in collaborat­ion with Alcatel Global Communicat­ions Company, organized a workshop at RTA’S Government Innovation Lab, Al Sufouh to discuss a host of ideas. Participan­ts have come out with 70 innovative ideas about revamping the Internet of Trains idea to ensure smart communicat­ion with trains and their infrastruc­ture.

Attendees included Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Younes, CEO of Rail Agency, along with several directors and staffs of the RTA. Representa­tives of Alcatel Company and some concerned operators, including the Dubai Metro and Tram operators, attended.

“The Lab also discussed the future concepts of the Internet of Things, ARTIICIAL INTELLIGEN­CE As well As Challenges ahead and how to tackle them in a way that realises RTA’S objectives of bringing happiness to clients from all community members,” said Abdul Mohsen.

“We met today to share innovative ideas with the aim of developing the best solutions and delivering excellent services capable of boosting customer’s satisfacti­on and happiness,” he added.
