LOST AND FOUND

-

BEING lost is the worst feeling a human can experience, because with it comes fear. Fear from the future. Fear from what is waiting for you. Fear of change. Fear of being lost.

I have just recently entered the senior life, where I am being judged as a young adult, which to be honest does not feel very different.

However, the main change is that everyone has high expectations from me, and expectations that I am able to make my own decisions wisely.

One of the most important decisions to make at this point is what I want to do/be after I graduate. And I have been noticing many of my classmates stressing over having no idea about what they want, where they do not even know what subjects to take.

Thankfully, I Do know what I want to be when I grow up; a gynaecologist. I want to become a gynecologist for several reasons and it is something I am passionate about doing.

Firstly, the idea of being the messenger that welcomes new souls to life is an honorable profession. Secondly, the world will always be in need for a doctor to deliver, especially since in every second of the day four babies are born. Heart surgeons, for example, might not always be in business seeing as in the future science would have advanced to newer methods that do not acquire heart surgeons.

Finally, if you are gynaecologist you will not be required to ever deal with men in your working life - no offence to all men.

Ever since I was a small girl, I always wished, begged and prayed for a baby sister. Annually, with every candle I blew on the 15th of August, I asked for a sister. Daily, before I went to sleep, I prayed to be gifted with a sister.

And thankfully, I was lucky enough to be blessed with a beautiful baby sister called Linda in the year of 2016 on the 25h of April. And my happiness and gratefulness cannot be described.

THEREFORE, At THE END of THE DAY, if I can gift this happiness to the hearts of my patients, then I will be completely pleased (my name also means “gift” so there’s that).

In the end, I just want to encourage whoever feels ‘lost’ to not worry or stress because trust me one day you will find your way like how I did.
