Nuaimi graces National Sports Day
RAS AL KHAIMAH: During its participation in the National Sports Day, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development organized various activities, which were atended by Dr Eng Abdullah Bin Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, and the ministry’s senior managers, employees and partners.
The activities held in Al Jazirah Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah featured a number of various sports including popular sports associated with the UAE heritage.
They also included tennis matches, which saw the participation of Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of infrastructure development. more sports competitions were also organized for the ministry’ s staff.
Nuaimi affirmed that the National Sports Day is one of the purposeful initiatives aimed at spreading the spirit of friendship and brother hood among more than 200 nationalities living in the UAE in a clearly homogenous atmosphere of mutual respect and matchless tolerance.
These values were strengthened by the vision of the wise leadership through a distinctive sports activity that combined all sections of the society under its umbrella, he added.
Nuaimi revealed that the Ministry of Infrastructure Development is keen on participating in the celebrations by organizing a busy sports day for its staff, considering that this occasion is a great opportunity to exercise sports and entertaining activities aimed at disseminating the noble values among all segments of the society in general and the ministry’s staff employees in particular.
He pointed out that by launching the National Sports Day, the wise leadership is highlighting the importance of this event for achieving harmony among the segments of society and promoting a spirit of positive interaction through collective, recreational,community and competitive sports activities.
The event also offers an opportunity to under score the importance of physical activity for the health and happiness of members of the society, he said.
Umm Al Quwain also hosted diverse sports competitions like a walk from the Science Park, women’s march, various sports competitions, a football tournament for schools, table tennis, volleyball, and sports seminars at the Municipality of Falaj Al Mualla.
