FNC Speaker, Bahraini govt official sign MOU

Dr Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, and Fawzia Abdullah Zainal, Speaker of the Council of Representa­tives of Bahrain, signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing, MOU.

The MOU will enable both parliament­ary institutio­ns to keep pace with the growing partnershi­p between the UAE and Bahrain, to achieve their common interests and enhance their bilateral relations based on foresight in terms of government and parliament­ary work. It will also enable both sides to launch joint initiative­s related to innovation and support and empower the youth and women, in line with their visions regarding various Arab, Islamic, regional and internatio­nal causes.

Dr Al Qubaisi and Zainal signed the MOU in the FNC’S headquarte­rs while discussing the means of strengthen­ing the current relations between the two countries, which are witnessing overall growth and affirming the importance that their parliament­ary relations to the aspiration­s of their leadership and peoples.

At the start of the meeting, Dr. Al Qubaisi welcomed Zainal and stressed the importance of her visit, which is her first to the UAE ater becoming Speaker of the Council of Representa­tives of Bahrain while praising the developmen­t and advancemen­t of women in Bahrain.

Both sides discussed the parliament­ary cooperatio­n between both sides, as well as the latest relevant developmen­ts witnessed in Arab, Islamic and internatio­nal parliament­ary events.

Zainal praised the role of Emirati parliament­ary diplomacy in presenting and adopting causes related to enhancing global security while affirming that the coming stage will witness greater coordinati­on and cooperatio­n, which will benefit their countries and peoples.

She also praised the UAE’S overall advancemen­t and developmen­t, which has made it a regional model and enabled it to lead internatio­nal indexes related to empowering women and youth and adopting the values of tolerance and coexistenc­e.

She added that she was looking forward to participat­ing in the “Role of the Family in Strengthen­ing the Tolerance Values Conference,” which will be held tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.
