The most disturbing crimes declined recording 49.6 crimes for the same number of people. The rape crimes also decreased to 1.2, leading the UAE to be least of such type of crimes. The kidnapping rate showed 0.8, making the UAE more secure than some countries such as Switzerland, Britain and Sweden. The homicide rate was 0.7, which is the best among the world’s countries, and 8.2 robbery in means of transport per 100,000 people, surpassing to many countries like Germany, Britain, Sweden and Switzerland.

“The Ministry of the Interior strives to realize its strategic objectives in line with the UAE’S Government Vision 2021, with the support and under guidance of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.”

Dhahi Khalfan said.

The Ministry is achieving results beyond expectations with excellence and leadership, aspiring to make the UAE the safest place in the world, he added.

Major General Abdulqudous Al-obaidli, head of the executive team assigned to followup indicators of the national agenda at the Ministry of Interior, said that the indicator of security feeling in 2018 reached 96.1% in the UAE. Such a rate represents an advanced indicator according to international classifications, and a fruit of the efforts exerted nationwide despite the challenges facing the countries of the world, he added.
