Meet dwells on implementing AI in radiology
The 8th annual International Radiology Conference, organised by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha), has concluded and participants have lauded it for using industrial revolutions 4.0 technologies to provide the best of its kind healthcare services to its customers.
Keen to enhance artificial intelligence (AI) in Abu Dhabi, Seha is implementing training programmes and adopting the latest world-class technology for its health services.
“Technology is developing rapidly, we can now analyse data and accurately diagnose a patient in record time through the use of AI.” said Dr Saeed Yahya Alseiari, consultant cardiovascular radiologist, Chairman of Seha Radiology Council and Chairman of the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC). “This provides patients with medical care quicker than ever. Seha through the implementation of training programmes would enhance its medical services,” he added.
At the conference, the participants atended talks in multiple subspecialties like chest imaging, mammography, cardiac radiology, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, and nuclear medicine.
At the two-day conference specialists from around the world shared the latest medical and technological innovations used in the field of medical imaging. The theme of the conference focused on artificial intelligence in diagnostic radiology and provided a balanced scientific programme for consultants, residents and technicians.
“Seha is currently looking into opportunities to utilise artificial intelligence in this sector. The conference illustrates Seha’s dedication in training their medical and technical staff and providing opportunities for them to benefit from local and international expertise and learn about the latest procedures,” said Dr Manzoor Ahmed, consultant neuroradiologist at SKMC and Co-chair of the conference.
“Many patients are ignorant about radiology or its essential role. They wonder what the radiologists are doing in the dark rooms. In response I explain that radiology is a very robust and dynamic field,” Dr Ahmed further added.
“The radiologists are the heroes in patient care. Almost everyone do end up in radiology because to channelise a patient it’s the radiologists who put the patient on the right track.”
“A patient needs the perfect diagnosis because wrong diagnosis could put the patient on the wrong track.”
