FBR extends last date for filing of tax returns

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the last date of filing of Income Tax Returns and Statements for the Tax Year 2018 till 31st of this month.

According to a press release issued by FBR, the decision has been taken on demand of various trade bodies, organizati­ons and other taxpayers.

All those persons who have not yet filed their tax returns, have been urged to take advantage of this opportunit­y.

FBR has extensive plans to pursue and legally proceed against those persons who are liable to file returns but do not file it by this extended date. NNI

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Asad Umar said Pakistan is trying to improve trade and economic relations with different countries in order to strengthen country’s economy.

“Pakistan is opening up to the world with improved security situation in the country”, this he stated while addressing the Graduation ceremony of 27th Advanced Diplomatic Course organized by Foreign Service Academy for foreign diplomats in Islamabad.

Referring to the geo strategic location of Pakistan, the finance minister said Pakistan is the pivot of the Silk Route. He said we are in the process of implementi­ng China Pakistan Economic Corridor project which has strengthen­ed our economic relations with the time-tested friend China and ties are also improving with Iran.

On afghanista­n, as a du mar said pakistan’ s efforts for the Afghan peace process are now widely being appreciate­d. He said Pakistan would continue to play its role to make the dialogue process successful.
