Das hits 66 as Dubai Daredevils beat DLCC

-

Dubai Daredevils have hit peak form in the four-team double round robin Dubai Cricket Council’s Mammoths by Night Cricket League with convincing wins over Dubai Lovers Cricket Club (DLCC) and Dubai Mammoths at the Sevens ground in Dubai.

Tanmay Das was their star performer in the match against DLCC. He struck 66 from 60 balls with the help of two sixes and five fours and later bagged three wickets in DD’S 45 run win.

Opting to bat first on winning the toss Tanmay gave DD a brisk start, while Bilal Azmat chipped in with 31. But the tempo of the scoring was increased by Aziz Ansari whose unbeaten 77 from just 36 balls was highlighted by three sixes and eight fours that pushed DD’S total to 246 for 3 in 25 overs.

Ammad Jami played a good supporting role for Aziz with an unbeaten 38.

DLCC did make a fight of it with Pranav Rai (41), Mohammad Nashir ( 39), Dhiraj Mujwani (23) and Chirag Mehtani ( 25) but finished on 201 for 7. Tanmay was good with the ball too with figures of 3-33 to bag the man of the match award.

DD once again crossed the 200-run mark in their match against Dubai Mammoths which they won by a whopping 122 run margin.

Man of the match Rahul Soni remained unbeaten on 88 from 53 balls ( 3x6, 7x4), while Mohit Raghav 49 and Aziz Ansari 44 also made big contributions to their total of 227 for 3 in 25 overs.

Dubai Mammoths failed badly in their chase. Four of their batsmen failed to open their accounts and only two batsmen reached double figures.
