DFWAC launches strategic plan for 2019−2021

The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), launched its strategic plan and new organisati­onal structure 2019-2021, in line with the vision of the UAE leadership and the Dubai plan 2021, during the annual ceremony that was held on Wednesday at the Interconti­nental Hotel in Dubai.

The details of the new strategic plan were presented during the ceremony, which was held in the presence of Ahmed Bin Darwish Al Muhairi, Chairman of the DFWAC; Afra Al Basti, Directorge­neral of the Foundation, and all members of the Board and employees of the foundation.

The new strategy of the foundation is based on three main axes; firstly, prevention, secondly, care, rehabilita­tion and empowermen­t, and thirdly, capacity and innovation, through which four strategic objectives have been set for the foundation. These are to reduce abuse and violence against women and children; provide excellent services in line with internatio­nal laws and standards; rehabilita­te victims and integrate them into society, and enhance the effectiven­ess and efficiency of the foundation’s internal performanc­e.

The Foundation’s new vision is “a society free from violence against women and children in Dubai,” and it is mission is to reduce abuse and violence against women and children by activating the role of prevention, and providing safe shelter and care and rehabilita­tion services in accordance with the best internatio­nal standards.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Muhairi said that during the developmen­t of the new strategic plan, DFWAC was keen to meet the requiremen­ts of this stage by enhancing the concepts of creativity, innovation and excellence in line with the vision of the wise leadership and the Dubai Government Plan 2021.

He praised the unlimited support for humanitari­an and community work both inside and outside the UAE by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.
