Dubai Sports City to host Tolerance Cup on March 29

Dubai Sports City signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MOU) with Dubai Land Department (DLD) through its regulatory arm, the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), to announce the first UAE Tolerance Cup, a one-day football tournament to be held at the Football Academy at Dubai Sports City on March 29.

The MOU establishe­s a strategic partnershi­p, not only with Dubai Sports City and DLD, but also with government entities, corporate organisati­ons, and the community as a whole, to launch community and cultural initiative­s and events in line with the Year of Tolerance and its goals in spreading and strengthen­ing its highest values in society.

Sultan Buti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, said: “Supporting the Tolerance Cup initiative for freehold real estate communitie­s affirms our strategy to strengthen our communicat­ion with the society, contribute­s to the disseminat­ion of sports, and reinforces sports initiative­s for their importance in spreading happiness and positivity, in line with the vision and directives of our wise leadership. It also consolidat­es Dubai’s position as a destinatio­n for events and sports competitio­ns, and through this cup, we saw an opportunit­y to support the ‘Year of Tolerance’ initiative in the UAE as part of a series of events that we intend to organise in commemorat­ion of this occasion.”

The Tolerance Cup, which is a first of its kind in the UAE, will witness the participat­ion of eight teams, representi­ng the communitie­s of real estate developers and owner associatio­ns across Dubai, who will compete in a knock-out tournament. Marwan Bin Ghalita, CEO of RERA, commented: “The MOU aims to strengthen cooperatio­n with Dubai Sports City and support its projects that seek to make sport an essential part of everyday lives.”
