RAK installs new radars on Emirates Road

RAS AL KHAIMAH: Ras Al Khaimah Police have recently installed three new radars on the Emirates Road towards Shaml-al-rams.

Brig Gen. Mohammed Saeed Al-humaidi, Director General of Central Operations, said that the GHQ was keen to contribute positively and effectivel­y to raising the level of road safety by launching initiative­s in line with the vision and strategy of the Ministry of the Interior.

The strategy aspires to place the UAE among the top safest countries in the world, through the imposition of order and control of road security, he said, stressing that the cooperatio­n and responsive­ness of the public with the police was supportive to achieve the vision and objectives of leadership, thus protecting lives and property.

He explained that the radars that have been developed to control the speed of the road at a speed of 141km/ h. They are fixed radars to monitor the speed offenders on roads. More radars will be installed in the future on various roads that witness several accidents incurred by unsafe driving at high speeds. Recently, the traffic department­s at the Abu Dhabi Police and Ras Al Khaimah Police held a meeting, during which they discussed the ways of coordinati­on and cooperatio­n, and sharing of common experience­s.

Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, during a meeting with a delegation of Abu Dhabi Police led by Brigadier Salem Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, emphasised the keenness of the Ministry of Interior to expand the cooperatio­n with all police department­s nationwide. He further pointed to the importance of meetings and joint visits between police delegation­s that enhance the expertise and achieve the aspiration­s of the Ministry.

During the meeting with Brigadier General Mohammed Al Humaidi, Director General of Central Operations, the delegation was briefed on the measures that help curb loss of lives and damage to the public property when accidents occur. Brigadier Humaidi emphasised the UAE’S interest to become one of the world’s top countries in achieving high security and safety rates.

He further pointed to the communicat­ion methodolog­y adopted by Ras Al Khaimah Police to strengthen the spirit of participat­ion and cooperatio­n with the police leaders and security department­s in the country.
