Seha to manage mortuary services in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI: The Department of Health—abu Dhabi (DOH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi, has announced the transfer of all mortuary services to the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha), the UAE’S largest healthcare network. The move comes as part of Doh’s efforts to support Abu Dhabi’s public healthcare sector and enhance its role as a provider of comprehensive and premium healthcare services to the locals and residents of the Emirate.
Seha will be now be managing all mortuaries across healthcare facilities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, which include Shaikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, Al Ain Hospital, Madinat Zayed Hospital and Delma Medical Centre (DMC).
It has confirmed its full preparedness to manage all the mortuaries across Abu Dhabi.
The Department of Health – (DOH) is the regulatory body of the Healthcare Sector at the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ensures excellence in healthcare for the community by monitoring the health status of the population. DOH defines the strategy for the health system, monitors and analyses the health status of the population and performance of the system. In addition, DOH shapes the regulatory framework for the health system, inspects against regulations, enforce standards, and encourages adoption of world-class best practices and performance targets by all healthcare service providers in the Emirate.
