Ajman’s Zorah Reserve a must-visit destinatio­n

AJMAN: Are you craving some time outdoors? Then the stunning mangrove forests of Al Zorah Nature Reserve, located north of Ajman City, are worth a visit.

Appealing to both nature and sports enthusiast­s, Al Zorah Nature Reserve’s million square metres of mangrove forests are home to an incredible variety of marine and plant life and approximat­ely 58 species of birds.

Recognised as a Wetland of Internatio­nal Importance by the Ramsar Convention in 2017, the Reserve is a year-round habitat for the pink flamingo. Visitors can choose both Quest for Adventure’s guided canoe or kayak tours of the mangroves, creeks and lagoons.

If one has never been in a canoe or kayak before; no experience is necessary and they will be provided with all equipment and instructio­ns related to health, safety and the environmen­t.

Nicklaus Design, the innovative global golf course design firm founded by legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, created the first world-class 18-hole championsh­ip course in Ajman in a beautiful seting.

With 12km of waterfront, flowing dunes and an abundance of wildlife, the spectacula­r Al Zorah Golf Club features manicured fairways and greens. The par-72 course has 2 lakes and 88 bunkers, and the changing of the tides alters the look and feel of the course on an hourly basis, presenting players with a unique challenge.
