Sharma, Idris excel at August edition of Pairs Open Social

-

SHARJAH: Satur saw the return of the monthly BMW Pairs Open Social. Competitors faced a format of Texas scramble for the front nine and beter ball format for the back nine.

Golf professional Purna Sharma and SGSC member Mohd Firdaus Bin Idris were fast out the blocks in the Texas scramble format on the first nine with a score of five under par thirty one.

The pair managed to maintain this fine form and dovetailed exceptionally well for the beter ball format with a score of thirty three. Combining this with their front nine score of thirty one a total score of sixty four proved too good to beat for anyone else in the field. Purna and Firdaus walked away with trophies and pro shop vouchers for their efforts.

Other winners on the day were Gary Hibbert and Sandeep Tamang who posted an excellent thirty two in the texas scramble format to win best front nine. Back nine winners were Mohd Zien Bin Ismail and Jumadi Husani with a score of thirty one which saw an impressive five net birdies.

The next BMW Pairs open social event will be held on Sept.7
