Sultan launches project for recruitment of nationals
Sheikh Sultan instructed the Sharjah Private Education Authority to target a number of graduates from education majors to be appointed in the emirate’s private schools
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, launched his new development project titled ‘Sultan Al Qasimi Project for Recruitment of Citizens’ and instructed the Sharjah Private Education Authority to target a number of graduates from education majors to be appointed in the emirate’s private schools as part of the 400 jobs he announced a few days ago for the appointment of national jobseekers this year.
This was announced by Dr Tariq Sultan Bin Khadem, Member of Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, in a telephone conversation with Ahmed Sultan via the Direct Line Proramme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV.
“Sheikh Sultan has been preparing for this project for a long time and has announced it in due time by appointing the graduates of education majors. This is because Sheikh Sultan’s main goal is social development for our children to play a bigger role in the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular. The project serves as a complement to Sheikh Sultan’s attention paid to building families and the community and providing a decent life for them,” he said.
“As part of the first phase of this significant project, the first of its kind in the UAE, the graduates of the colleges of Social Studies, Islamic Studies and Arabic Language will be appointed.
“We have currently more than 1,000 graduates from education majors in Sharjah and the number is on the increase. As a few graduates could be appointed in the Ministry of Education and other ministries, Sheikh Sultan instructed the Sharjah Private Education Authority to appoint the graduates in its schools where they will undergo 1-2 year training programmes in co-ordination with the University of Sharjah,” he added.
The graduates who will pass the required exams will be appointed this year in Sharjah’s private schools through the Sharjah Private Education Authority and will get all the privileges given to a Government of Sharjah employee including among others health insurance and subscription to Sharjah pension fund.
Meanwhile, in order to support the Sharjah Police, Sheikh Sultan approved 54 civilian jobs at the Sharjah Police Headquarters, for Emirati University and high school graduates from various disciplines.
Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-chief of the Sharjah Police, thanked the Ruler of Sharjah for the generous gesture and for his continued support to the efforts of the Sharjah Police, enabling them to undertake their work across various fields.
Recently, Sheikh Sultan instructed that a distinctive integrated private school be set up in Weshah in the central region of the emirate called Sharjah Model School, provided the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works begins work on the project with immediate effect.
Sheikh Sultan also instructed that a club for male teachers and another for female teachers be set up on Nazwa Road near Al Seyouh. Each club will include sports facilities, a library and a hall for lectures, seminars and training. In addition, Sheikh Sultan instructed that two nurseries be set up, one in Al Seyouh and the other in Al Rahmaniya.
This was announced by Dr Saeed Musbah Al Kaabi, Chairman of Sharjah Education Council, in a meeting with Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Radio and TV Authority, via the Direct Line programme, which is broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV.
“I received a phone call from His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in which he followed up all details related to the education process and instructed that a number of educational projects be carried out for the benefit of the emirate’s citizens and residents,” he said.
Earlier, Sheikh Sultan responded to a complaint sent by an Emirati woman to the Direct Line programme in which she talked about her deteriorating financial situation as a result of debts and arrest of her husband.
