“The UAE has attained significant achievements in economy, science, innovation, human development, diversity management and labour market efficiency, in addition to other indices that showcase the remarkable progress that our citizens have fuelled in various fields. It is also evident in women’s achievements across multiple sectors and the support to gender equity as a result of an effective national development plan. All these successes reflect the respect and recognition our country commands regionally and globally,” said Sheikha Hind Bint Majid Al Qassimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Business Women Council.

On this great occasion of UAE National Day, maintaining the spirit of the Union should remain our top strategic goal, which we will strive to deliver by maintaining a coherent vision and working on specific objectives. It is also a call to individuals to help implement our national ideals by acquiring the right tools and utilising opportunities to help drive sustainable development. The spirit of the Union will enable us to give off our best to ensure that our country holds its distinct place among the most respected nations of the world,” she said.

“December 2nd every year is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of our country and its people, and pay homage to the legacy of our founding fathers whose determination and fortitude played a vital role in unifying the country. Our country was built by visionary leaders who believed in the power of the human spirit to drive progress. The solid foundation they laid down in 1971 has led to remarkable, honourable achievements in all walks of life and created an enabling environment for women to maximise their potential. By thus encouraging Emirati women to play a leading role in the development of the nation, the UAE has broken down barriers and empowered their journey in sports as well,” said Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Women Sports (SWS).

“In the UAE, we believe that success can never be achieved in isolation. Through our experiences, we have also understood that the journey of advancement is arduous, and requires tireless and collaborative efforts of all stakeholders of development. Women and men working together to attain common national goals, inspired by the collective vision of the UAE’S wise leadership, are key enablers of long-term, sustainable and equitable socioeconomic growth,” said Reem

Binkaram, Director of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment (NAMA).

“The UAE National Day is an opportunity for institutions and individuals to renew their collective pledge to carry forward the terrific spirit of our founding fathers, who led by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, established the foundations of a nation, which has seen tremendous growth over the past 48 years and is considered a regional and global example to follow when it comes to recognising and enabling the key contributions of women in shaping the economy and society. NAMA’S core values and all resultant efforts stem from UAE’S values, and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of NAMA. Guided by these core values, we were able to further national and international efforts to empower women, create more conscious and equitable economies, & make it possible for more women to reach their fullest potential.”
