Ajman Police probe death of mother, daughters

AJMAN: The Ajman Police General Command are investigat­ing the murder of a mother and two of her daughters of Asian nationalit­y in their apartment in Al Rashidiya, Ajman.

Brigadier General Abdullah Ahmad Al Hamrani, Deputy Commander-in-chief of the police, said the city’s comprehens­ive police station received a call from the mother of the victim, at 4pm last Friday, saying she rang up her daughter, who did not answer the phone.

Instantly, an order was issued by the Public Prosecutio­n to open the apartment in the presence of the police, the crime scene department and the National Ambulance, where they found a three-year-old girl, the 32-year-old mother, dead in her room, and her 16- year-old daughter, and her 13- year-olds is ter, M.M, de adina separate room.

The forensic experts said the mother and her two daughters died due to asphyxiati­on with a piece of cloth approximat­ely 12 hours ago, and they also had signs of assault as a result of hitting and resisting the strangulat­ion.

Al Hamrani indicated that the family of the victim reported that there were family disputes between the dead wife and her 35-year-old husband. The family added the husband also suffered from mental disorders and sometimes nervous breakdowns.

According to al ham ra ni, investigat­ions revealed that the husband planned in advance to kill his wife, as he booked a flight ticket to his country days before the crime and after he committed the crime, locked the apartment to ensure that the police were not informed before he fled.

Al Hamrani added, “The husband took a taxi to an airport to return to his homeland. We received the report from the wife’s mother after 11 hours of his travel.”

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Ajman CID, said investigat­ions revealed the suspect’s personal and travel informatio­n within an hour only after the death of the victims was discovered. He added the Ajman Police, in cooperatio­n with the Ministry of Interior, began procedures in coordinati­on with the Interpol to track, arrest and bring the suspect from his country to be tried in the UAE.
