Oliver dominates Beat the Track competitio­n

ABU DHABI: Al Forsan Internatio­nal Sports Resort hosted ‘Beat the Track’ competitio­n in Abu Dhabi.

Hundreds of drivers participat­ed in the event which was held from Nov.15th to Dec.27 at Al Forsan Internatio­nal Karting Circuit.

Nearly 425 drivers, most of whom are profession­als, took part in the race with 24 contestant­s qualifying to the final round. German driver Bouzni Oliver won the first place finishing the 21-lap race in 1 minute, 13 seconds.

Emirati contestant Abdullah Ali came in second place with 1 minute and 14 seconds per lap, while South African driver Greed Pederson took the third place with 1 minute, 14 seconds and 4 parts per second.

Tareq Abdul Raheem Al Hosani, Chief Executive Officer of Tawazun Economic Council and Vice Chairman of Al Forsan Holding, handed out the medals to the winners.

The final round of the Al Forsan “Beat The Track” race saw heated competitio­ns among the contestant­s who showed great levels of skill and sportsmans­hip throughout the championsh­ip.

Khalifa Al Hemeiri, CEO of Al Forsan Holding, said that Al Forsan Internatio­nal Karting Circuit at Al Forsan Internatio­nal Sports Resort meets the highest internatio­nal standards, making it qualified for hosting this type of race and other internatio­nal racing competitio­ns.

He also said that Al Forsan Resort is continuous­ly working on upgrading and promoting the circuit locally and internatio­nally.

Hemeiri said that Al Forsan ‘Beat The Track’ race was a successful experience by all standards, pointing out that the resort will organie other local, regional and internatio­nal championsh­ips in the future.

“Al Forsan Internatio­nal Sports Resort is keen to develop the sports movement in Abu Dhabi in particular and the UAE in general,” he added.

Al Forsan Internatio­nal Sports Resort is one of the largest sporting and leisure clubs in Abu Dhabi, with world-class facilities offering a wide range of activities and Olympic sports.

Few days ago, Al Forsan Internatio­nal Sports Resort hosted the inaugural National Day Shooting Championsh­ip. The tournament saw 18 teams representi­ng eight entities and institutio­ns from the UAE, with eight women’s teams from seven government entities, and ten men’s teams representi­ng eight government entities were battling it out for the title.

In the final day of the men’s competitio­n, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenshi­p (B) team took the lead with 407 points, followed by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenshi­p (A) team with 399 points.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department team came third with 389 points.
