Ajman Police solve murder mystery within 18 hours

AJMAN: Ajman Police solved a murder crime in which an Asian was killed in less than 18 hours of its occurrence, Lt. Col. Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Ajman CID has revealed.

At 10:30 on Sunday a phone call was received alerting a murder in the Liwara 1 area near the Eid prayer hall.

When the police rushed to the scene they found the body of an Asian stabbed several times.

After questioning some present at the murder scene it was found the victim was in a restaurant with three people when suddenly one of them asssaulted the victim with a whitecoloured weapon.

He stabbed the victim several times before escaping in a taxi with the other two.

A CID team identified the taxi and monitored it heading towards Sharjah Airport and then to the Emirate of Dubai.

The police identified the suspect, an Asian, and also found the white-coloured weapon used in the crime, which the suspect hid in the taxi.

The other two persons accompanying the murderer were also identified and arrested.

“The next day, in coordination with the Dubai Police, the perpetrator was arrested in the Bur Dubai area, just 18 hours after the crime took place. On being questioned, he confessed to killing the victim over financial differences,” Al Nuaimi added.

Recently, in a trial session held at the Sharjah Criminal Court, an Asian was convicted of killing two people with a piece of wood near Souq Al Jubail.

According to the two prosecution witnesses, the perpetrator hit the victims on the head for the purpose of theft.

The DNA of the perpetrator and the victims matched the traces found on the piece of wood used in both murders.

The court heard the statements of the first witness who works in the Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The witness said the department received three reports that a person assaulted two in the same way and in the same place, adding that two died after being hit by a piece of wood.
