SHARJAH: An Asian employee caught red-handed accepting bribe is currently facing the Sharjah Criminal Court.

He has denied all accusations and claims innocence.

A witness officer has revealed that when the police were alerted by a confidential informer about the suspect an arrest warrant was immidiately issued and officers headed to the incident’s location.

The suspect was caught red-handed inside the informer’s vehicle. When police officers inquired about the money, he claimed a friend was financially helping him and gave him the money. The suspect was arrested.

During police interrogation the suspect eventually broke down and confessed he took the bribe to facilitate procedures at his company.

However, in court, he denied all accusations and claimed to have never seen the witness officer before.

The witness officer testified during the court session that he was in the company of other officers at the time of the arrest, and during the investigation of the suspect.

Separately, the Sharjah Criminal Court has postponed to March 22 the case of an Asian who along with 20 others assaulted a person with white weapons, and claimed his life.

The Public Prosecution’s investigations reveal that the suspect, CH, was charged with possessing alcohol for trafficking purpose and participating in the murder of the victim who died because of a knife stab during a fight.

The fight occured after a dispute took place between the victim and the suspects over the sale of alcoholic drinks.

The suspect has denied the charges. He has stressed that he had no relationship with the victim, and that he was not there during the killing. He has also denied his statements given during the police and public prosecution investigations.

The court has postponed the case to infer the victim’s data, notify the blood parents to inquire about their desire for retribution or acceptance of blood money, and listen to the statements of witnesses.

Recently, the Ajman Criminal Court ruled that an Arab man should be executed for premeditatedly murdering his friend after stabbing his heart, and claiming his life during a quarrel between them. The parents of the victim have refused the blood money.

The incident took place when the police were alerted about a stabbing in a residential tower in central Ajman.

When the police headed to the crime scene, the suspect came in a taxi, surrendered himself and reported the incident.
