Now you can book date on phone for virus test

ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company “Seha” has activated the registrati­on and payment system allocated to conduct a coronaviru­s test at the Abu Dhabi Covid-19 Test Centre, through (Seha applicatio­n).

The applicatio­n is available to all, through Android and IOS smart phones and tablets, as well as on Seha website.

Speaking to Al Khaleej Newspaper, sister of Gulf Today, Saif Dawood Al-siksik, Director of Applicatio­ns and Digital Transforma­tion Department at Seha, said that the priority in booking test dates is given to target groups, including pregnant women, senior citizens, people of determinat­ion, and those with chronic diseases, and those who have symptoms of the virus.

“Dates are booked via the bilingual applicatio­n (Arabic-english) or by calling 8007171 in just a couple of minutes. Examinee’s name, Emirate ID number, email address and mobile number are mandatory requiremen­ts to complete the registrati­on process followed by choosing a date that suits him/her, who will receive verificati­on SMS of the booked date,” he added, noting that those groups are exempted from paying test fees.

People who wish to subject Covid-19 test, are opted to pay the fees of Dhs370 electronic­ally during the registrati­on process through the applicatio­n or complete registrati­on and payment at the test centre, where a payment device is available. Cash will be unacceptab­le to prevent contact. After payment and registrati­on, examinees will proceed with the test that takes a few minutes without leaving vehicle.

Al-siksik has also revealed that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, will have two centres in Al Ain City, two centers in Al Dhafra Region, and two other centers in Abu Dhabi City, in addition to the Zayed Sports Center which was recently opened bringing the total number the test centers to 7 in Abu Dhabi only. The applicatio­n would be updated to include all centers to allow customers choose the suitable place and time to them, he added.

He advised community members willing to conduct the Covid-19 test, to walk to those specialize­d centers and not to go to health centers and hospitals as a preventive measure, to prevent the spread of infection.

The test centre in Abu Dhabi witnessed for the third day in a row a large turnout from the community members who were keen to subject the test consecutiv­e day. The number of cases that subject to the test reached 683 on the second day, he added.
