Dewa renews Project Management Institute certification

-

DUBAI: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received its 3rd Project Management Professional PMP certification. This has been achieved after a team of DEWA staff successfully passed the Project Management Institute PMI standards in Pennsylvania, USA.

The renewed certification reflects DEWA’S ability to provide its employees and government employees in Dubai with world-class training, and educational programmes that enhance the success of its projects. To earn the Registered Education Providers designation, a provider must meet or exceed rigorous standards for quality and effectiveness as defined by PMI.

“DEWA supports its employees in their careers and personal life. It is responsible for providing them with the much-needed tools to become effective partners in shaping the future. We are committed to investing in our staff. This stems from our realisation that our employees are the most important component for continuous success and excellence and our keeping pace with the latest developments and rapid changes in anticipating and shaping the future. We are inspired by the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who once observed that, “You can’t wait for the future, but you have to build it.” This achieves the UAE Centennial 2071 to make the UAE the world’s leading nation, and the Dubai Plan 2021 to make Dubai the preferred place to live, work, and visit. DEWA believes that happy and positive employees ensure the happiness of all those dealing with them,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“DEWA partners with major public and private organisations to provide a stimulating and positive work environment that contributes to enhancing employees’ efficiency and loyalty. We are committed to the capacity building of our staff through workshops, seminars, and events that enable sharing knowledge and experiences. This supports our efforts to shape and anticipate the future, keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, use disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robots, Internet of Things, and 3D printing,” said Al Tayer.

“DEWA has adopted a clear strategy to enhance innovation among its employees in all its divisions. DEWA works to enhance, and deepen the awareness of its staff to improve their skills, and train them to adhere to best practices. This supports the development of their skills, to make it a part of our day-today operations. Our staff are an important element that contribute to DEWA’S standards of excellence, as shown by our services and operations,” said Al Tayer.
