Ministry shares awareness film to focus on social distancing
DUBAI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has published an awareness film on its website and social media channels, highlighting the importance of avoiding family gatherings and observing physical distancing.
Despite the ban on gatherings, the ministry affirmed that people can still maintain some of the authentic norms and traditions during Eid by using modern communication technologies to greet relatives and friends. Through modern communication means, we can still reflect our social cohesion, while at the same time helping address all challenging facing us, the ministry added.
The film aims to enhance individuals’ commitment to the precautionary measures taken by the country to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), especially during Eid Al-fitr.
Recently, The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MOHAP, commended the promising treatment for COVID-19 infections using stem cells, developed by a team of doctors and researchers at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, ADSCC.
The potential treatment involves extracting stem cells from the patient’s own blood and reintroducing them after activating them.
In a statement MOHAP said, “The Ministry is following with great attention the developments of this breakthrough and fully supports the earnest efforts being made by the team of scientists and medical experts from the Ministry and the academia to provide treatment to COVID-19 patients.”
As part of the UAE’S keenness to protect the public health and to ensure recovery and wellbeing of COVID-19 patients’, ADSCC conducted medical experiments on cell therapy, regenerative medicine and cutting-edge research on stem cells with encouraging results.
This scientific breakthrough is a testament to the UAE’S commitment to bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, MOHAP, and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, NCEMA, announced a set of social and health guidelines pursuant to the decision to amend the National Disinfection Programme.
