Abu Dhabi warehouse fire brought under control
ABU DHABI: The Civil Defence teams in Abu Dhabi controlled a fire that erupted in a waste warehouse in Al Mafraq Industrial Area in Abu Dhabi, with no injuries.
The command and control centre in the Operations Department of the Central Operations Sector in Abu Dhabi Police was alerted of the outbreak of fire in the warehouse, and immediately Civil Defence teams moved to the scene, where they controlled the fire.
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence appealed to the owners of factories and warehouses in industrial establishments, to adhere to the standards and conditions of prevention and safety, not to store materials in a random manner, and to follow up on maintenance of safety and protection devices periodically.
Recently, Sharjah Civil Defence teams controlled a fire that erupted in a small vehicle, in Al-taawun area, Sharjah.
The fire caused no injuries, while the vehicle was gutted and it was removed from the scene, the Civil Defence confirmed.
The operations room of the Civil Defence in Sharjah was alerted about the fire at 11:04 am. It was indicated that a small vehicle caught fire while it was parked in a yard for parking lots in Al Taawun area. Accordingly, the firefighting team moved from Al Mina station in Sharjah to the fire’s location.
They dealt with the fire and controlled it within minutes, taking precautionary measures, which prevented the flames from extending to other vehicles at the site. They also conducted the cooling process for scene, to make sure the fire was completely extinguished. The competent teams continued examination of the scene to discover the circumstances behind the fire.
Recently, the Sharjah Civil Defence’s squads contained a fire that erupted in two vehicles at a car park of a mosque in Sharjah on a Thursday afternoon.
The operations room of the Civil Defence directorate in Sharjah was alerted at 1:59pm about two vehicles that caught fire while being parked in a car park of a mosque located in Al Qara’en area, Sharjah. The firefighting teams of Muwailah station immediately rushed to the scene, which is also next to the International Private School.
The flames reportedly gutted the park’s umbrella under which two vehicles were being parked. The two vehicles were also gutted, while no casualties were reported, confirmed the Civil Defence.
The firefighting teams were able to contain the fire within 20 minutes, and prevent it from extending to the mosque.
