Six days a week for free COVID-19 test in Ajman
AJMAN: The Ajman Medical District has decided to increase the screening period for COVID-19 that have now become six days a week from Saturday to Thursday for residents who can visit Al Bait Metwahid Hall in Hamidiya, which can test up to 3,000 people a day.
Hamad Tarim Al Shamsi, Director of the Ajman Medical District, said that increasing the number of days from five to six came due to the large turnout of people wishing to subject to COVID-19 test. The free screening will continue until end of the specified date, Al Shamsi added.
“It has been coordinated with the concerned authorities at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) to add Saturday to the days of checks at the centre to receive people from Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm,” he added.
He also noted that the increase in the number of people to the centre and other health centres in Ajman to subject to COVID-19 testing, reflects high awareness of the community members.
He continued, “These checks are among the important factors in detecting and curbing the novel coronavirus, so the health institutions in the country have intensified the efforts to conduct tests across the country in order to maintain the health and safety of community members.”
