Mohamed receives Israeli President’s message

ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Tuesday a message from President Reuven Rivlin of Israel, dealing with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them to serve mutual interests.

In his message, the Israeli President expressed appreciati­on for the efforts made to sign the historic peace accord, paving the way for a new era in the ties between the two countries. President Rivlin extended an invitation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed to visit Israel.

In his reply, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed thanked President Rivlin for his positive and constructi­ve stance. He also expressed the UAE’S appreciati­on for the cooperatio­n that led to the historic peace accord, which is poised to contribute to regional stability. He also extended an invitation to the Israeli President to visit the UAE.

Separately, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday received a phone call from President Carlos Alvarado Quesada of Costa Rica.

During the conversati­on, the two parties discussed ties of friendship and cooperatio­n between the two countries and ways to enhance them.

Also discussed were a number of regional and internatio­nal issues of mutual interest.

Sheikh Mohamed and President Quesada reviewed opportunit­ies for cooperatio­n, as well as the two countries’ efforts to contain the outbreak of coronaviru­s and to mitigate its impact during the post-pandemic era.

Sheikh Mohamed was re-assured by the Costa Rican President on the situation there ater heavy rains and floods caused by Hurricane Eta, hit a number of Central American countries and led to casualties and damages.

President Quesada thanked Sheikh Mohamed for his noble feelings and expressed his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the UAE.
