SHARJAH: Sharjah Media City (Shams) has successfully concluded its participation in Seamless Middle East 2020, which was inaugurated by Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior. The exhibition took place on November 16th and 17th at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), said: “We were pleased to participate in and sponsor Seamless Middle East 2020; and to be presented with the opportunity to reflect Shams’ vision and direction in investing in the media and digital world. Our participation provided us with a unique opportunity to exchange experiences and present a wealth of possibilities that can help strengthen our position as a leading free zone.”

He pointed out that 12 Shams-registered companies, were given the opportunity to showcase their technological, digital services and products, within Shams’ plaform at Seamless. The exhibition also featured the latest technology in the field of digital products and services, opening new horizons and new markets for these companies.

(Shams) also participated in one of the virtual panel discussions titled, “Aspiration vs execution: what’s halting digital transformation?”. Fagr Kassim Ali, Director of Media Sector Development represented ( Shams) on the panel; speaking about the significance of preparing individuals for digital transformation and understanding the areas on which digitization efforts should be particularly focused.

During the panel discussion Fagr mentioned that several institutions are pivoting towards digitization and focusing on how this will positively affect their work and performance. This shit could be made by embracing everything data related, exploring virtual reality, artificial intelligence and the internet of things (IOT). Therefore institutions seeking to keep pace with the rapid changes, need to have a robust preconceived vision; a clear digital strategy, which they strongly believe in before trying to promote it. Speaking about how well companies having adopted a digital outlook are doing, Fagr highlighted that Sharjah Media City (Shams), which was born digital since its first day in 2017, has experienced a remarkable growth since its inception.

Sharjah Media City (Shams) is world-class media hub for innovative facilities and services. Shams offers over 120 business activities to choose from and provides the flexibility to combine different activities on the same license.
