Journalist praised for rescuing bird

-

DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Friday commended journalist Rola Al Khatib for helping rescue a bird.

The Dubai-based journalist sent an alert to the Dubai Municipality when she came across an injured bird during her walk. Sheikh Mohammed’s tweet reads, “Rola ... the merciful, the most merciful to them .. Thank you for your beautiful story .. Thank you to the Dubai Municipality .. We ask God to perpetuate his mercy on this good country .. There is no civilisation without values .. values that give us meaning for our humanity ..”

Rolla Alkhatib said, “Yesterday, I experienced a lovely story that reflects the reality of life and safety in Dubai. That was yesterday, when I was walking on the beach, where I found an injured bird on the sand. It was unable to move or fly. I called the Dubai Municipality and reported the condition of the bird and that it needed help. They asked me to send a picture of the bird via Whatsapp and share its location as well. In less than half an hour, they rescued the bird and sent me a picture of it to reassure me about its condition. It was fine and undergoing the necessary treatment.

“If animals receive all this respect, interest and appreciation, then, imagine how humans live here in Dubai are considered…

“God protect the UAE and its people…i hope that the countries which are suffering from corruption and conflicts learn how nations are built.”
