ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-insaf (PTI) is now in a comfortable position to form the government in Gilgit-baltistan (GB) as five independent lawmakers have joined it.

These included Wazir Muhammad Saleem (Skardu 3) and Raja Nasir Ali Khan (Skardu 4), Mushtaq Hussain ( Ghanche 1), Abdul Hameed (Ghanche 2) and Javaid Manwa from district Nagar.

Ater a meeting with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and GB Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI’S chief organiser Saifullah Niazi, four winners from Baltistan Division and one from district Nagir announced to join PTI and showed their full confidence in the policies of Prime Minister Imram Khan.

On the occasion, Gandapur said that for the development, prosperity and peace of Gilgit-baltistan, their services would be proved productive. All the five winners while expressing their views said that they wanted to work for their constituencies and for the people of GB. Ater geting these five winners, PTI is now in a position of forming government in GB easily.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal has accused the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of being biased in favour of the federal government and said he was busy in forming the PTI government in the region.

“The CEC has proved to be biased in favour of the federal government. On whose instructions he held a press conference in Islamabad against opposition,” the PPP chief asked.

He said that a tweet showed the CEC siting with the GB governor and Gandapur. “How can you sit with ministers of the government when you are the CEC. We have always said this is not an election commission, but PTI’S election wing.”

Bilawal sought a clarification from the CEC about this. “The CEC not only sold the people of GB but also the land of GB,” he said.

Gilgit-baltistan CEC Raja Shahbaz lashed out at Bilawal, saying that the recently-held elections in the region were transparent.

Shahbaz, addressing a press conference, said: “(PPP chairman) Bilawal had been ranting about rigging the past one month [ ] What is rigging? is it a feather? a tail? What is it?”
