Dubai Media City’s move for National Day

-

DUBAI: Dubai Media City has launched an augmented reality (AR) filter for Instagram to celebrate the UAE National Day. It will bring its community of 34,000 content creators together to recognise the spirit of unity and embrace the country’s creative drive and innovation in a fun and creative new way.

Inspired by the UAE’S national colours of black, white, green and red, the AR filter lets people take a selfie of themselves with the nation’s flag flying in the background. It also overlays an artistic face painting of the flag on the cheek of every person, creating a unique way for people to celebrate the formation of the UAE 49 years ago.

Dubai Media City is the region’s largest media hub and has celebrated UAE National Day together with its community for two decades. It has launched its first-ever Instagram filter so its diverse mix of media professionals can come together for a united celebration to express their appreciation for the country in a safe, digital and totally creative new way.

The Instagram filter is easy to use. First, you need to make sure your Instagram app is updated to the latest version. Once this is done, the easiest way to find the effect is by heading over to Dubai Media City’s Instagram account. Once here, tap the smiley icon on the grid to select the filter and all that’s let is the strike a pose and share your picture with all your friends.
