Bee’ah holds solar-powered light show

SHARJAH: Bee’ah, the Middle East’s award-winning sustainabi­lity pioneer, celebrated the UAE’S 49th National Day and paid tribute to the seven emirates of the country with a stunning solar-powered light show, a first for the region, at its new headquarte­rs.

Bee’ah’s Headquarte­rs, set to launch in 2021 as one of the world’ s greene stand smartest AIintegrat­ed office of the future, hosted au a en at ion al Day light show featuring patriotic images of the UAE’S leadership and the UAE flag. The light show was powered by renewable energy, generated by Bee’ah Headquarte­rs’ on-site solar park, which is stored in Tesla’s sophistica­ted Powerpacks, a fully integrated Ac-connected energy storage system.

Wishing the people of the country a joyous national day, Salim Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of Bee’ah, said: “On this momentous occasion, Bee’ah sends greetings and well wishes to our country’s visionary leaders, and our Emirati brothers and sisters. Our nation has experience­d tremendous growth over the years, and it has been our privilege and honour to contribute to its ambitions. This sustainabl­y powered light show, which honours our country, is fitingly held at the site of our new headquarte­rs, which will set the global benchmark for smart and sustainabl­e buildings of the future.”

Recently, Bee’ah and the University of Sharjah, UOS, have signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing, MOU, to collaborat­e across multiple areas of interest that will include environmen­tal research, educationa­l programmes, student sponsorshi­ps and explore developing business opportunit­ies and Intellectu­al Properties, IPS.

The MOU enhances cooperatio­n between UOS and Bee’ah Group business verticals, including Bee’ah CRI, to develop scientific research related to sustainabl­e solutions in the environmen­tal sector such as integrated waste management, renewable energy, environmen­tal protection, facilities management, education and sustainabi­lity. The UOS will also direct relevant graduation projects and research studies towards Bee’ah’s requiremen­t and needs.

To enhance student developmen­t, Bee’ah, which has several employees who are UOS alumni, will provide scholarshi­ps and training opportunit­ies for

UOS students and share recruitmen­t opportunit­ies through its job portals and career fair.

The initiative is designed to inspire students and develop the UAE’S talent pool, direct young graduates to successful home-grown companies while promoting industry-academic partnershi­ps and knowledge exchanges that will foster sustainabl­e developmen­t.
