National Day celebratio­ns bring joy to residents

DUBAI: Residents all over the country celebrated the 49th UAE National Day in many ways as malls and entertainm­ent destinatio­ns came up with more exciting offers to add more fun to the buckets of their visitors.

In this regard, Mercato hosted an array of activities to honour the spirit of the unificatio­n of the seven emirates. The activities were not only for shoppers but set for all the family members from toddlers to elders to celebrate and enjoy the National Day at Mercato.

Decorated with beautiful lights and patriotic UAE themed decor inside, Mercato set the scene for the 49th anniversar­y. The National Day celebratio­ns started on the eve of Dec.1 and lasted throughout Dec. 2. It hosted an array of traditiona­l entertainm­ent to get you into the National Day spirit – from compliment­ary roaming parades, traditiona­l Emirati local dance and children workshops.

Beside this the mall planned the traditiona­l Emirati local dance Al Ayyalah which will spread joy and the spirit of the union.

The dance was scheduled to take place on the ground floor as shoppers would be entertaine­d by colourful roaming performanc­es throughout the mall.

Moreover, on the occasion of the 49th UAE National Day, the Swedish home furnishing retailer Ikea was giving its customers a 25% to 75% discount on selected products across all stores in the UAE.

With the aim of creating a better everyday life for the many people, the retailer joins the nation in the celebratio­n and offers irresistib­le prices.

With the start of the festive season, customers can take advantage of these offers to refresh their homes and buy holiday gifts for their loved ones.

However, Union Coop had honoured the anniversar­y of Commemorat­ion Day, an expression of pride in the eternal sacrifices of the UAE’S martyrs in the memory of the nation, as flags were set up in all of its 19 branches and malls.
