Dewa to hold Internatio­nal Excellence Forum on Dec.7

DUBAI: Dubai Electricit­y and Water Authority (DEWA) has invited employees of government and private organisati­ons and stakeholde­rs from the UAE and around the world, to take part in DEWA’S Internatio­nal Excellence Forum 2020.

DEWA organises the forum virtually on Monday, 7 December 2020 from 9:30am to 3:00pm. This is part of DEWA’S strategy to promote excellence as a sustainabl­e organisati­onal culture. Held under the theme ‘Operationa­l Excellence and Crisis Management – Post COVID-19 and lessons learnt,’ the forum discusses three main topics: Role of Business Agility, Business Continuity & Organisati­onal Resilience in Disruptive Times and the New Norm; Water Efficiency & Water

Network Management – Best Practices in Water Loss Reduction and Control; and Human Capital Management Before & Ater COVID-19. Those wishing to participat­e can register via DEWA’S website www.dewa.gov.ae

“The challenges that all sectors have witnessed as a result of the spread of COVID-19 have forced organisati­ons to upgrade their work systems to be more flexible and agile to keep pace with the rapid developmen­ts. Hence the importance of this forum in sharing global knowledge acquired by utilities during the pandemic and disseminat­ing best practices of sustainabl­e excellence among all stakeholde­rs. The forum also promotes a culture of excellence by focusing on practical solutions to emerging challenges, as well as best experience­s and global practices in the field of excellence,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

DEWA’S Internatio­nal Excellence Forum will discuss three main topics. The first session, ‘Role of Business Agility, Business Continuity & Organisati­onal Resilience in Disruptive Times and the New Norm,’ focuses on experience­s of utilities in Saudi Arabia, North America, the Caribbean and South Korea in dealing with COVID-19 and other crises. The second session, ‘Water Efficiency & Water Network Management – Best Practices in Water Loss Reduction and Control,’ focuses on reduction and control water losses in a costeffici­ent and sustainabl­e manner.
