TRIVANDRUM: A delegation comprising six startups mentored by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) will participate in the GITEX Technology Week opening in Dubai on Sunday.
They will showcase their innovative products and solutions along with more than 1,200 exhibitors from some 60 countries at the GITEX Future Stars 2020 expo.
The participants are Tutifruti Interactive, Practical Learning and Communication Solutions, Dreemzrock Ventures, Inker Robotic Solutions, Alzone Sotware and Machbee.
“Besides displaying their products and solutions, these ventures will also explore greater expansion and investor-connect to the Middle East,” the KSUM said in a statement.
“GITEX 2020, which has exhibitions and conferences, is a window to transformational ideas that will shape the future of government and business in the next decade.”
The expo at Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre, is the only global tech show being held in 2020 since the COVID-19 outbreak.
At the event, companies ranging from tech powerhouses to innovative small enterprises and startups will present their products and solutions before buyers from around the world.
KSUM is the nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
Kerala had send a batch of doctors and nurses from Kochi to the UAE recently to join the ongoing batle against the coronavirus.
The 150-member critical care worked in various COVID-19 hospitals across the UAE, adding to the nation’s existing workforce, according to officials.
Abu Dhabi-based VPS Healthcare conglomerate, which arranged their travel, said it would further strengthen the UAE government’s efforts in combating the virus.
The medical team received permissions from the authorities of both countries before they finalised their travel plans.
Of them, 75 are recruits and the rest vacationing employees of the VPS Healthcare, which runs a tertiary care hospital in Kochi and other Indian cities as well.
