UAE detects 1,311 new cases of COVID-19
ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MOHAP, announced that it conducted 113,928 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
In a statement on Friday, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.
As part of its intensified testing campaign, MOHAP announced 1,311 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 174,062.
According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and are receiving the necessary care.
MOHAP also announced 1 death due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 586.
The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
MOHAP also noted that an additional 793 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 157,828.
INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY: On Saturday, 5th December, the international community will observe the International Volunteer Day, IVD, under the theme: ‘’Together We Can Through Volunteering’’, to recognise the importance of efforts made by volunteers throughout the world to help those who are not able to help themselves, those excluded and let behind.
The Day is an opportunity for all to promote volunteerism, encourage governments to support volunteer efforts and recognise volunteer contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGS, at local, national and international levels.
The United Nations Volunteers, Bonn-based UNV, programme says over the last months, as the COVID-19 pandemic has ravaged across the world, volunteers have been at the forefront of medical, community and societal responses.
