PML-N gears up for power show in Lahore
LAHORE: The pakistan muslim league-n aw az(p ml-n) has geared up for the Dec.13 rally to be held under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Lahore and started implementing its plan of holding workers’ convention throughout the city.
A preparatory meeting for the scheduled rally was held at the PML-N’S Lahore secretariat, which was presided over by party vice-president Maryam Nawaz and atended by senior party leaders including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Rana Sanaullah and others.
It was decided that Maryam would tour all 14 National Assembly constituencies of Lahore on Dec.7 and 10.
The Punjab chapter of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is also expected to hold a meeting of the party’s provincial executives for the Dec.13 public meeting.
The PDM has already termed the scheduled rally historic and decisive, which makes it the most important of all the public gatherings held by the 11-party opposition alliance in the recent past.
Abbasi said that the Dec.13 rally would not be like the past ones. He said the rally would set the course for the PDM future and would be a game changer.
PML-N MP Waheed Alam Khan said they had been asked to gear up for the public meeting and added that the post-dec.13 rally plan was not revealed to them.
Punjab p pp parliamentary leader has san m ur taza said the party held a Rawalpindi district meeting and Lahore district meeting on Thursday. He said the party’s Punjab executive meeting would be held on Friday to finalise the plan for the Dec.13 rally and added that they had not planned to hold workers’ conventions yet.
Meanwhile, the results of a survey conducted by the Pulse Consultants showed that key federal ministers have failed to come up to the expectations of the public.
Over 2,000 respondents participated in the countrywide survey which found that Minister for
Railways Shaikh Rashid Ahmed received most criticism over his performance - 46 per cent respondents declared his performance non-satisfactory, while 26 per cent respondents appreciated his performance.
Eighteen per cent respondents gave mixed response, while 10 per cent preferred not to comment on his performance. About the performance of Information Minister Shibli Faraz, 44 per cent respondents were dissatisfied, 25 per cent were satisfied, 21 per cent showed mixed reaction, and 10 per cent respondents did not reply.
