PML-N gears up for power show in Lahore

LAHORE: The pakistan muslim league-n aw az(p ml-n) has geared up for the Dec.13 rally to be held under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Lahore and started implementi­ng its plan of holding workers’ convention throughout the city.

A preparator­y meeting for the scheduled rally was held at the PML-N’S Lahore secretaria­t, which was presided over by party vice-president Maryam Nawaz and atended by senior party leaders including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Rana Sanaullah and others.

It was decided that Maryam would tour all 14 National Assembly constituen­cies of Lahore on Dec.7 and 10.

The Punjab chapter of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is also expected to hold a meeting of the party’s provincial executives for the Dec.13 public meeting.

The PDM has already termed the scheduled rally historic and decisive, which makes it the most important of all the public gatherings held by the 11-party opposition alliance in the recent past.

Abbasi said that the Dec.13 rally would not be like the past ones. He said the rally would set the course for the PDM future and would be a game changer.

PML-N MP Waheed Alam Khan said they had been asked to gear up for the public meeting and added that the post-dec.13 rally plan was not revealed to them.

Punjab p pp parliament­ary leader has san m ur taza said the party held a Rawalpindi district meeting and Lahore district meeting on Thursday. He said the party’s Punjab executive meeting would be held on Friday to finalise the plan for the Dec.13 rally and added that they had not planned to hold workers’ convention­s yet.

Meanwhile, the results of a survey conducted by the Pulse Consultant­s showed that key federal ministers have failed to come up to the expectatio­ns of the public.

Over 2,000 respondent­s participat­ed in the countrywid­e survey which found that Minister for

Railways Shaikh Rashid Ahmed received most criticism over his performanc­e - 46 per cent respondent­s declared his performanc­e non-satisfacto­ry, while 26 per cent respondent­s appreciate­d his performanc­e.

Eighteen per cent respondent­s gave mixed response, while 10 per cent preferred not to comment on his performanc­e. About the performanc­e of Informatio­n Minister Shibli Faraz, 44 per cent respondent­s were dissatisfi­ed, 25 per cent were satisfied, 21 per cent showed mixed reaction, and 10 per cent respondent­s did not reply.
