British-indian expat jumps to death from 27th floor
SHARJAH: A British woman of Indian origin allegedly commited suicide during the early hours of Sunday, by jumping off the balcony of her 27th floor apartment in Al Taawun, Sharjah.
Financial issues and stress were said to be the reasons that triggered the 32-year-old woman to commit suicide, police sources revealed.
The incident was reported to police around 4am, and patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate the suicide.
Preliminary investigations pointed out that the victim was drunk when she decided to jump to her death, and the building’s watchman was the first to witness the body.
The body was transferred to a forensic team to perform an autopsy, and police are now investigating the incident to reveal the reasons behind the suicide.

The shocked family was completely unaware about the motive behind his drastic act.
One of the family members found him hanging from the ceiling fan when he entered his room. No suicide note was found near the body. Police and forensic teams were immediately called to the scene to transfer the body to the hospital. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the reasons behind the mysterious death.
The victim’s family is devastated and is trying to figure out what went wrong in his life which compelled him to end his life.
In September, a 53-year-old Emirati man had fallen to his death from the balcony of his building in Sharjah.
Residents of the area reported the incident to Sharjah police around 9:30am, ater they witnessed the man falling from the 10th floor of his residence.
He suffered severe injuries but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital.
The body was later transferred to the morgue, and police immediately initiated an investigation to know the reasons behind the incident – whether it was an accident, or an atempt to commit suicide.
